Does anyone know of a history book about the Camino that discusses more than just Spain? For example, that would talk about routes and culture, maybe even language influences, in France, Germany, Switzerland, etc.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
What languages, apart of English, can you read? There is quite a lot of good stuff published in german, SY

English or French. My German isn't that good.

At the moment I can remember only two books:

The Pilgrimage Road to Santiago: The Complete Cultural Handbook http://www.amazon.com/dp/0312254164/?tag=casaivar02-20 which is heavy on Spain but covers also the wider cultural and historic implications of the Camino.

Pilgrim Snail: Busking to Santiago by Ben Nimmo http://www.amazon.com/dp/0007104731/?tag=casaivar02-20 which is a pilgrim story of his 2004 pilgrimage but, as it is written by somebody with a deep knowledge of medieval literature also covers that.

Hope that helps, if I remember more, I will post it. SY

PS Happy Christmas!
