I want to do the Camino Ingles in December 21st
Hi all…

I want to do the Camino Ingles from December 21/22 and it says it should take roughly a week.

My main question is will there be places to stay open this time of year? I want to be away doing this other Christmas Day especially and not sure if there will be places available to stay? Any advise will help guys.

From Essex, England with love…

God bless and Buen Camino 🙏🏼💪🏼

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.

Hi, Buen Camino. Search the Forum using the term "Christmas" and you will see threads like the above that may help you.

My understanding is that all Municipal Albergues in Galicia are open all year.

Gronze.com is a go to site for many of us here and indicates dates for Albergues:

The Xunta albergues are open.
For private places you will need to call beforehand seeing Spaniards also go on their regular holidays/ family visits.
Good luck.

The one in Pontedeume is closed on Christmas and New Years Day.
There are private alternatives.

No Xunta albergue but lots of other options.

Happy preparations!

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Also, to bear in mind, the main Spanish day is Three Kings Day on January 6th, so Christmas day itself isn't quite the same as in, say, the UK, albeit many things will still be shut.

I read in your signature you will be walking the Ingles?
