One route from Paris to Bordeaux is via Tours following the GR 655. Editions Lepère publish a good guidebook. See more here.

A matter of personal preference, Shireen B, but I have the recent editions of both the Lepère and the Miam Miam Dodo guides to la Voie de Tours, and definitely prefer the clarity of the latter. Neither is particularly light in weight. Both are in French and are not available in English. Miam Miam Dodo also includes details of the alternative route to Tours via Chartres. The cost of shipping to England was fairly reasonable. In additional to these printed guides, a fair amount of information about route and accommodation may be found online. Tom
