CF during Easter 2024

I'm looking for advice on how to best manage walking the Camino during Easter week (2024). Although certainly not my 1st choice, it may be that I end up including Easter week in my spring 2024 Camino. I plan to walk Somport to the CF and on to SDC.

Are there specific towns to avoid that week? Does one need to reserve rooms ahead for the entire week?

Have not been there that time of year. Maybe @Vacajoe can comment as he has opened the albergue at Canfranc Pueblo in the spring a few times now. I would think Jaca might be busy. Also check ahead as a couple albergues may be booked up at Artieda and Ruesta especially on the weekend.

Let us pick up your suitcase once you arrive in Europe....
...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).

Why not? It is a great experience, and not a problem if you are somewhat prepared.

I would avoid Sarria to Santiago during that whole week because of crowds, but I wouldn't expect masses of pilgrims in the earlier stages of the Camino Frances. If you want private accommodation in any popular cities, you should reserve in advance, particularly for long weekend Thursday to Easter Sunday. If you are staying in pilgrim albergues, there will probably not be a problem.

If you will be in a city, Google to find what procesiones are scheduled. Maybe stay an extra night in a private room so you can stay up late and watch the drama. Even the small towns have interesting processions and ceremonies, so allow enough time to pause as you start out in the morning, or even as you walk through.
