Casa Rural Parada de Francos. Getting some bad vibes from this place

Dear all,

I have not stayed at this place myself, but I just had a pilgrim in my office telling me about a really bad experience here. Bad enough that I feel I should let people know. Doing a forum search, I also found this thread, so it does not look like an isolated incident.

I don't really want to go into details, but maybe try to avoid this place if possible... here is the Google Maps link to it.

It's interesting because some people loved it there. It looks like all the severe reviews are recent. It looks like a cute place. Pity.

We can only speak as we find and I have found Parada de Francos an absolute jewel on the Camino. I can appreciate that Pepe the chef (and owner I believe) can be abrasive but we have found him warm and big hearted. His food is not cheap but it is fabulous. We stayed there in 2022 in 2023 and will be back there in 3 weeks from now.

I encourage you to try it, to enter with a big smile and roll with the chef. The rewards are immense.
