Hi,
Does anyone have any recommendations on car rental options in Santiago. My family and I will finish our walk on Saturday June 11th and would like to rent a car for a couple of days.
Thanks,
Brian

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Look at Google Maps Maps or Maps on your Ipad
in front of theSantiago railwaystation is Enterprise Rent a CarCompany

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
I booked a car from the rail station via Booking.com yesterday, mostly bc I was already on there arranging a hotel. It was super easy. I ended up getting a small sedan via Budget and was happy I could pick up at the train station rather than the airport.

KJE: did it require an international drivers license or was your California one valid for rental?

Your state DL will do.

In the past I have used Enterprise near the railway station. Helpful adn reasonably priced.

A six-timer, I have used car-rental numerous times, if only to leisurely drive to Finisterre and Muxia (and to return the car the next day at the airport), and once to do a reverse CN back to Pamplona (beautiful!).
I never had a problem finding two or three other Peregrinos' to share rides and costs.
Taking a brief look at Rentalcar.com though, I noticed that the rates in high season have considerably risen since my last rental (2018), scrutinize the online offers! And no: you don't need an international driver's license as a tourist.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Thank You! I'll check it out!
