My shoe of choice is Hoka Stinson.
On my last VDLP, by the time I reached Salamanca, (500km in) I needed new shoes.

I bought a different shoe and had foot problems for the rest of my camino.

I am heading back to Sevilla in May, and would like to buy another pair of Hokas in Salamanca.

Anyone have any information about stores in Salamanca that stock Hokas? Grateful thanks

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).

An alternative would be to send an extra pair from Seville to Salamanca as poste restante. My wife did a similar trick even though it took an effort to explain in Correos office what exactly she wants and ensure that the parcel will be kept in post office long enough until she gets there. Anyway, the post ladies were very helpful although they may have thought we are a little nuts ...

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

Good luck! Nevertheless I would think it is a little hard to expect the availability on the very day you reach Salamanca in an offline store the exact brand/model/size ...

I was looking for a store that stocks Hoka and wasn’t expecting availability from an online store

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.

Were the shoes waiting for your wife in Salamanca?

Hola!
I purchased a pair of Hoka one one Toa Sky GTX in SWEDEN ( after Mizuno, Merrill
MOAB and Haglöfs); and breaking them in for CP central route.. they are both a trekking cum trail runner.. Guess Salamanca would have Hoka though I doubt Decathlon..

The problem I am finding in our corner of the world (BC, Canada) is not finding brands of shoes but rather finding sizes in stock. New stock just isn't finding its way out here so options for footwear are extremely limited.

Sorry I can't help with your dilemma. But glad to hear the Hoka Stinson worked for you. I had to switch last minute to Hokas I already own because the shoes I bought for the camino broke in way too quickly. They just need to last 500 kms from Burgos to Santiago.

My shoe of choice was the Hoka Stinson ATR as well. We walked in 2021 from Cadiz to Astorga, and then west on the Frances into Santiago. My shoes were past their prime by the time we reached Salamanca, but unfortunately we could find no stores that carried Hoka when we were there. We saw some Hokas in a store window when in Benaventa, but when we went back when the store opened, they only had one Speed Goat in a mens size 9!! We ended up purchasing a pair of Salmon shoes to wear in the event our Hokas fell apart. We did wear them for a couple of hours on several days to 'break' them in, but we managed to limp into Santiago in the Hokas. I certainly would not count on being able to replace the Hokas on the camino. They are lightweight, and if I was to walk it again, I would carry a second pair with me. It is even a good idea to switch shoes during the day. Even though it is the same model, it gives the shoes a 'rest' and your feet a change.

The point being made was that a store in a smallish city may carry some Hokas, but it will likely not have a complete selection of all sizes in all models on the day you arrive. Perhaps you are thinking of contacting the store and seeing if they can hold a pair for you, maybe even paying in advance. That would be good solution.

I also wear Hoka shoes. I walked VDLP IN 2019 and was not able to find any along the way, I certainly had no luck in Salamanca, I would also suggest you post a pair there.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
