Does anyone have any information for reasonably priced Camping/Outdoor Gear Shops in Lisbon?

I'm flying into Lisbon in May from Liverpool and I travel light on the plane to avoid excess baggage charges. So I don't travel with things like tent pegs, or walking poles. These are things though that I'll need walking the Camino to help set up my tarp for sleeping 'rough' when albergue's are full.

To be quite fair, I also much prefer sleeping under the stars from time to time as I find I get a much better night's sleep (for obvious reasons I'm sure many have encountered!)

ALSO, I'm looking for a fairly decent and cheaply priced private room in Lisbon for a few days before I start my journey along the Portuguese. A few years ago when I did the Portuguese with my wife (whom I'm again doing it with this year!) we found locals would offer up private rooms in some of the places we stayed in. So they weren't in effect "on the map". If you have any places you could recommend for a few nights for 2 people in a private room then that would be most helpful.

Obrigada.

Hi, Playful
Decathlon now has an in-city store near the main department store, El Corte Inglés. You would take the red line to Sao Sebastiao metro stop and it's nearby. They also have a huge box store out of the center of town a way. It is on a bus line (look for buses that go to Alfragide, that's the name of the part of town, it's in an industrial park).

For cheap clean rooms in a family run pensión, I'd recommend the Pensao Prata. http://www.pensaoprata.net/v1/
Great location about 5 minutes from the Cathedral and the first arrow!

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
For your room booking - sign up to Airbnb.co.uk

I booked a room close to Lisboa Cathedral at end of May - £25 for 2 nights

BuenCamino

Hi Davie. Funnily enough we were thinking of signing up our flat to Airbnb for the 6 weeks we're away to possibly recoup the rent we're still having to pay. Never thought to sign up though to actually book something somewhere else though. . . DOH!

I gather then you're doing the Portuguese at the end of May yourself by the sound of things?

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Try Decathlon at

Here is their web.

Bom caminho!

Thanks mspath. It seems Decathlon is the pace I need to be! I checked out their website and they look a large firm so feel confident I'll get what I need. Thanks for your response. Much appreciated .
