Camino Training with a website

A friend of mine who is a member of the Puget Sound chapter of APOC sent me a link to a new program designed by one of their members. It allows you to track your training mileage and walk a "virtual" camino at the same time. Complete with pictures of the places you would have passed:

http://www.walking4fun.com/

Once you register on the site, you can start logging your mileage on the Camino (either the Camino Frances from St. Jean, or you can start all the way back in Le Puy!).

Pretty creative, buen camino, Laurie

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

This is very interesting site. A neat way for those who are training to keep track of how far the training would take them on the Camino, including pictures.
Works for both CF and the Le Puy route.

Worth a look.

This is actually FUN to use. An unexpected incentive to complete your work-a-day plod with verve. Helpful photographs and text that dares to exercise some wit. Delightful and free .

That's me--daring and full of wit. =) That makes me laugh. Thanks for the nice words, though!

The website is fun for me.... As much as I enjoyed hiking the Camino, there was a part of me that couldn't wait for it to be finished so I could start working on this website. =) I've had it in my head to do a website like that since 2010, but it wasn't until I was walking the Camino Frances that I finally decided it was going to happen. But obviously, the only "work" I could do on it at the time was to keep taking pictures for every kilometer of the trail!

I'd like to go back and add some more Camino routes at some point. The Portuguese route, the Northern route, and the Via de la Plata route are high on my to-do list. But it'll probably be a couple of years before I get around those those.

I've got some more stuff I'm working on now, though, so keep your eyes open. There's more in the future! =) (Not just more routes, but more features too....)

This site is really lovely. I have just registered and start walking my pseudo Camino Frances today. I will be starting the real thing in September this year so am very happy to have this extra incentive to get out there and do the miles (km's). Thanks so much for your hard work! :D

What a great idea! I signed up yesterday, have recorded the past two days of walking and can't wait to do more so I can see more of the photos/percentage build up! I sent it to my mum and sister, too as we're hopefully doing the Camino together.
