Irish Ideas Think this may help a little Anne, the area where the Guinness brewery is located is known as Saint James Gate.I saw this on a church near the Guinness brewery in Dublin. Does anyone know what Camino it's marking?

The camino. It can be anywhere in Europe. Traditionally it was the start for the ferries to France and Northern Spain. No Ryanair or aer lingus then, and pilgrims started walking from whichever port they landed in. A new ferry service from Ireland to Santander starting next year. Buen camino

Wayfarer, I was considering walking the 8 miles from St James Gate to my home in Dun Laoghaire the day before I got the bus to the airport but settled for blessing my throat with a pint of Arthur's finest in my local the night before my flight. ;-)It is marking the traditional start of the Camino de Santiago for Irish pilgrims. You can get your first Pilgrim Passport stamp at the reception of the visitors centre at Guinnesses brewery. I did that in 2012 before I flew to Biarritz. Some Irish cyclists start there and cycle to Rosslare then cross to France and cycle to Santiago.
