One of my online maps shows this alternative which runs a bit more east from the Del Norte Galica route. It splits from the DN Galica route at Boimorto and joins the Frances a few hundred meters from O xen near the N-547 highway about 20 k closer to Santiago than joining the Frances at Arzua. I have not found any information on this alternative so far. Looking at numerous "Street views" of this route shows no yellow arrows on buildings, structures or on anything.

Holoholo automatically captures your footpaths, places, photos, and journals.
The map attached may help you. The alternative coming from Bahamonde to match C. Francés is with orange colour. I walked it 3 years ago.
Any case it's hard to get lost the way, mainteining the direction signed by the sun (whether it's not foggy)

Hi, samoht

I have not walked anything but the "old official" route from Baamonde/Sobrado, but I think there are now two alternatives. One goes to Santa Irene, and one goes a bit further to Lavacolla.

@notion900 is one of our resident experts on these alternatives, and here are some of her posts.

To Lavacolla:

To Santa Irene avoiding Arzua:

Good luck with this, it looks like a good way to put off the Frances' shock to the system for a few more kms.
