Camino Mozarabe from Jaen

After the very heavy rain is the Camino Mozarabe open for walking from Jaen now?

I am starting the Mozarabe from Almeria on 16th. I contacted the very helpful Mercedes from the Associaćion Jacobea and she told me in Almeria they were fine. I’m expecting some general flooding but hopefully it will still be OK to walk.
Accuweather has no weather warnings for the Jaén are for the next couple of weeks 🤞

Thanks, your observations are appreciated. Having walked from Almeria and from Malaga (to Cordoba . . .) I'm aware of the landslips and local flooding which can occur after heavy rain. Keeping a watch on weather forecasts is essential!

Someone from the area posted a disturbing video of a flooded río de Guadix in a Facebook group abt the camino the first day of the disaster so I was worried. Good to know our Almeria angels are OK.

I finished walking that same section, between Almeria and Guadix, towards Granada, just a couple of days before the flooding.. much of it followed along a dry river bed, that looked like it hadn't seen rain in years. Sticks or poles, if you don't already use them, would be very useful right now.

Mercedes and the rest of the Mozerabe Amigos are amazing: tireless, committed and helpful volunteers, who will go out of their way for you. The albergues they look after are donativos, do give them you support.
