Camino ingles booked end Aug.2025

Hi,

I am Oscar, 37 from Barcelona , Spain, and just finished booking everything to do camino ingles in 2025
And I cannot be more excited for this

Day 1,2 A coruña
Day 3 arrival to ferrol, booked gran hotel ferrol.
Day 4 Camino starts ferrol- Pondetedeume, booked hotel montebreamo.
Day 5 Camino day #2. Pontedeume- Betanzos (booked hostal portico)
Day 6 Camino day #3 Betanzos- Castrelos (booked hotel barreiro--> note that they pick you up on Bruma or hospital or nearby and the next day they bring you there, so no cheating).
Day 7 Camino #4: Castrelos - Siguiero (Booked Pension Siaba)
Day 8: Camino #5: Siguiero -* Santiago (Booked hotel compostela)
Day 9: return to Barcelona in the afternoon.

Bags will be transported with el camino con correos. And will go from Coruña to Ferrol with monbus or renfe.

Accommodation expenses:

Hotel Coruña: 90 per night
Ferol: 96 eur per night
Pontedeume: 100 per night
Betanzos: 55
Castrelos:75
Siguiero: 75
Santiago: 100 (got great discount on lack Friday)

Why? Good accommodations are booked fast. I just can't do hostels.

Also note that if you do this with agencies, you will pay more than double and worst accomodation.

Hello Oscar and Buen Camino! You are about to have one of the greatest joys of your life. My wife and I have walked two Caminos and plan to do another in 2025. One thing we discovered during our Caminos is the peregrino albergue “effect”. There is something very special/communal/spiritual about staying in a peregrino albergue. It has to do with the people you meet and the breaking of bread with them. So special. To be fair, albergues are not for everyone (noisy, sharing bathrooms, little privacy, probably won’t sleep well, ), but they are SO much a part of the Camino experience. I would recommend you try it out…at least once.

Caminos Engles is one of my favorites. I walked the same route you would be walking a few times in the past. In fact, I just walked it after walking the Camino do Mar from O Vicedo to Cedeira. From Cedeira, I took a bus to Ferrol and started again. I stayed at Hotel Grand Ferrol in the past, and I liked it, but I stayed at Paradore this time because they offered a room with a sea view (even though with the rate I paid, I could see it only if I sat down on the toilet), for a similar price as the Grand Hotel Ferrol. A few interesting places are on the way: a restaurant called Meson-Museo Xente no Camiño (a little bit before Bruma) and a hotel+restaurante called Canaima in Bruma. They both have good food and very interesting paintings and wall photos. You can Google them both. Buen Camino!

I stayed at Hostal Portico in Betanzos and it was very nice. Why not stay at the pension in Bruma? They have private rooms. It's called A Casina de Bruma. Lovely little place. The private hostel next door also has private rooms.

Yes, they look nice, but I am more inclined on sleeping somewhere in which I can have breakfast. For example the albergue privado of San Lorenzo charges around the same than casa rural anton veiras, or hotel barreiro and you know it is a a hotel an place that you can have way better dinner, than in Bruma (kitchen closes at 8), and you can breakfast there. Also restaurant in Bruma opens at 9 am.

Waking up and walk some km until I get breakfast, I don't know.

hahah, yes I know that albergues have their charm, and at least I should try one. but you know, just for the fact that to hear someone that snores and don't sleep or people that may wake up before me, and do 25 km next day, makes me want to go to somewhere nicer

based to my investigation the day from Betanzos to Bruma should be the 1st most difficult taking around 6h, and the day fro Neda to Pontedeume the second one.

But depending when I start , I know I can first day Ferrol-Pontedeume bypassing Neda which takes around 8 km less and you get the compostela again.

If you believe it is too much KM, there is el camino ingles SLOW, which will allow you to go on a slower pace. https://www.caminoingles.gal/es/o-camino-ingles-slow

I found Pontedeume to Betanzos to be the hardest stage. It's like a never ending series of ups and downs all day.

Agreed. Stayed there when I did the Ingles in June 2022.

(BTW! I found the Ingles to be the least enjoyable of all my many Camino walks.... Hope that the OP has a better experience!)
