Thinking about the next one - 2025
Dangerous times! When I find myself hooked on the forum and Camino-related websites. Trying to help newbies, probably failing miserably but still trying! Reading about other people’s experiences and learning from them....

Also studying itineraries..... Old ones, new ones. So many caminos....So many possibilities....

Can I afford the time, the money? Is my body up to it? Is it ‘reasonable’, like :’will my family put up with it just one more time’?

Aargh....

Yep. I’m in Camino mood again!

😉 Ultreia!

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Train for your next Camino on California's Santa Catalina Island March 16-19
You have the dis-ease; you know the cure...

Except there is no cure, thankfully ;)

The Beloved reckons she can predict my next Camino about 4 weeks before I open the conversation with "aah, I was just thinking of..."

Buen camino!!
I read ‘ you know the cure’ and I thought ‘what? What? Tell me!’
Tss
You are no help 😉

This disease can affect both the young and the old.

I know that feeling! I look at maps and differt routes, planning, dreaming. I am in love with my backpack, boots, equipment all over again.. I am dreaming of CF, Jerusalem, C Inglés, Finisterre/Muxia, Piamonte or why not walk from home via Gdynia and the north of Polen to a city called Szczecin (to S:t James Cathedral) and southwest to Berlin and so on.. Health, time, family, money, courage..
Some day it will all fall in to place, but for now I will keep on walking at home. I don´t want to be cured from this diseas, when the urges and the fever gets to strong I get out for a walk with my Camino gear in my backpack, dreaming..

You know it's incurable!

Just pick a date and start planning ;)

My Beloved must also know the signs because he suggested I check the prices of flights first and then pick the dates accordingly ... which I did (under protest, obviously). Not only is this dis-ease chronic, it seems to be getting worse - we walked from Estella-Fisterra in Sept/Oct last year and the effect didn't last more than 6 months! I am leaving in a few days and still haven't finished packing and repacking, even though it will be my 11th time in Spain. I really envy @davebugg his always ready pack for emergency caminos ... I need to keep it light because my joints are getting a bit dodgy, so I keep an eye on the weather forecast as it creeps into my camino dates: Should I take the rain trousers or not? Pack only tights and skirts and no trousers? Drop the down jacket? And thus I shall dither until five minutes before I go.
Buen camino to all who are going and dreaming of going this year!

I was the same when packing for beginning of April! I ended up taking the down jacket too and I was VERY glad I did. Keep checking that weather forecast 😉

So relatable.
When I'm on Camino I sometimes ask myself "Is this the last one?" to which I answer .. yeah probably .. it's an effort, gets harder every year, always get a blister, some loneliness as I miss my wife and family back home etc etc. all the negatives.
But I'm home for about a week and I'm on this forum again .. dreaming and planning. I've succumbed to the Camino life, it's who I am now, twice a year i go, it is such a big part of my life. And in reality, my family knows this and although they may not truly understand the "draw of the Camino", they support me and let me do me. To that I am thankful.
So, you can fight it if you want ...

All part of the addiction. I recommend drop the down jacket and go with a down vest and a merino wool top combo.
🤔

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
Well, we know what sales you'll be watching for between this pending and the next, don't we!

Having walked part of the Levant, Via de La Plata, and Sureste (Avila to Santiago) in 2013, I have the same pleasant fever, better called an obsession. For me there are several blocks to returning to Spain from Sydney in Oz. The air fares and for me at over 80, the cost of travel insurance, with some medical issues, which equals the air fare. My planning interrupted by some serious medical issues in previous years, hence the long delay in returning. Also, not many friends my age are now willing (or able?) to put up with me and the "joys" of a Camino. Planning and training to finally return in September, to walk the Primitivo - my air ticket sits on my desk. Too much time has elapsed between Caminos, so this time I'm sure my trip is heavily over planned.

I must admit, I am very (no, extremely) admirative from you people from ‘far away’ ....
I have lived in N-Z and... it is such a long journey to Europe 😳
Enjoy your camino in September, including the ‘over planning’ (part of the fun isn’t it?).
Best wishes

I haven’t picked an exact date yet but... I have the approval of my other half (phew!) and I have planned 😳
It’s only a short one, the end of the Chemin d’Arles (where I left off) and the Aragonés to Puente la Reina.
My problem will be ...stopping in Puente la Reina😁😳
Buen camino to all of you fellow sufferers 😉

But Estella is just a short ways away from Puente La Reina.... ;)
