Camino Baztan - where to stop first night

Based on some other posts I've read here I've started looking into the Camino Baztan as a good option for a different start to the CF.

Gronze suggests stopping the first night in Souraïde, but they list just one hotel there at 81 euros. Where do others tend to stop on Day 1?

Also, is there a day (or more) with significant climbs like you get from SJPDP?

And finally, how is the food situation? Enough bars/cafes/supermarkets so that I don't need to carry food? Or is is like other remote caminos where you've got to carefully plan your meals (and carry food).

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
Not sure about the first night as I started in Sare and spent the first night in Urdax. Yes there are a couple of nice climbs over the Otsondo and Belote passes. You do need to carry food for one night but you can buy it in Elizondo. Municipal and Diocesan accommodation available all the way from Urdax.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.
