Time of past OR future Camino
walking every day for the rest of my life
Every time we take a major trip we buy a picture - watercolour or ink drawing usually. After our first camino we got one of Santiago Cathedral. This time we had hoped for 'a typical spring winding camino path" picture, but unfortunately we have found NOTHING. Here is a niche market for some enterprising artist!

Join the Camino cleanup. Logroño to Burgos May 2025 & Astorga to OCebreiro in June
There used to be a man selling art on that street with all the restaurants (Rua do Franco?). He just had a little table and a file full of his work. I bought a tiny one about the size of a cigarette card and had it framed. I asked the framer how it had been done. Being a philistine I don't know what the technique is called, but basically layers of colouring that is scraped away to make the picture. The scenes were all ostensibly of the Camino but the artist told me they were all imagined rather than drawn from life or photos.

Train for your next Camino on California's Santa Catalina Island March 16-19
Best I can offer is the attached of the Puente Romana at Fereiera painted from a photo taken on our camino in 2012. A PM is on its way!

When it is done on plastered walls it is called "sgraffito". I presume it is the same name whatever form of artwork is involved.

We purchased a wonderful piece of art from Zamo Tamay in September 2012.. His address Rue Nova 14, Sotano. It is a peregrine print that he personalized.
