It's Canfranc-Estación that's highlighted, but the Aragonés gets a shout-out; all part of their '52 places to go in 2025' list. Here's a gift link to the article, that should allow access- Canfranc is number 24 on the list (Coimbra, at #11, also makes the list). It was fun to open the article this morning and see some places I've traveled to

Thankyou. Beautiful places. Some seriously awesome mountains in a few of the destinations

There is also a mention in the Dolomite, Italy page of the Cammino Retico. /screen shots under.
- I can only wish.

Wish I'd known about this one before. I have the AV1 almost booked for August this year. Very difficult to get reservations it is so popular.
Oh gosh, already? We were also thinking about the AV1/2 and possibly the Retico this August but haven't starting looking into it yet.

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).

Most of the popular refugiios are already booked for 2025. I started booking last Autumn and most around the ski areas booked immediately after they opened booking for 2025, all on different months. I had to search for alternatives. The only reason I haven't completely booked our trip is that a few don't take bookings for 2025 till January of this year. I am waiting to click the booking button on the stroke of midnight when each of them opens!! It's a real mess. No central booking system. This is just for the AV1. I have no idea if the other Alta Vias are the same.

Amazing! I walked the AV1 in September, 2017 with a friend I had met on the Primitivo, and we had no problem booking about a month in advance. Maybe August is more popular because of the greater possibility of snow even in early September (which did curtail one of our days). Or perhaps the route is getting even more popular. In any event, it's a mind-boggling walk.
