Between Pontevedra, Calde de Reis and Padròn there are some lovely cafés or make-shift restaurants really worth stopping at. I never did because I was with a friend who, alas, was not in the pilgrim mode but rather performance mode
It is so important who you decide to walk with.
On the other hand I was advised not to stop for too long along between 2 towns as,
1) it is often difficult to start up again after having stopped too long, especially if one eats during the stop.
2) it was so hot, we wanted to walk as much as possible during the cooler hours of the day (between 6am and 10.30am )
3) arriving early in the pilgrim albergues allowed for more choice of 'sleeping cubicles' in dormitories.
So "café stops or not?" would be the important question in my view. Buen Camino !
