Hi, is there a place in Sevilla to buy a SIM card on a Sunday late afternoon. I arrive at the train station. thanks

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
There is a Vodafone shop in the train station. Thats where I bought mine . Perhaps Google to see opening hours.

Don't buy Movistar. They may have good coverage but my SIM has been nothing but trouble, not working for phone calls and texts.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
I've had best coverage with Movistar, but also recently very good with Vodafone (and the latter seems easiest to find in a variety of smaller towns). When I bought a Vodafone SIM last month it was 15 euro for 5 GB data and 800 mins (which included calls to the US and many other countries).

The key (learned through painful experience) is to verify that everything works (calling, texting, and esp the data connection) before leaving the store. Also ask them to confirm that they've signed you up for the correct plan. I strongly recommend buying at an "official" Vodafone etc store, rather than a reseller.

In Spain most stores are closed on Sundays, but in a large place like Sevilla you might find one open.

I bought Orange SIM when we arrived in Madrid in 2018 and topped it up on week 4 as we did ran out of phone call minutes so a review all the options. Service was good overall AND I agree that you should test the services before you depart on your adventure.

I also am an Orange fan. I have had no problems on my various Caminos, even topped up once in a supermarket on the VDLP

In fall of 2018 I purchased Movistar SIM in Seville, daughter went with Orange.
Movistar offered 28 days for 15e, coverage was good but no grace period, and when it came time to renew, ( we were on the VLDP) , their stores are few and far between. If you are from North America, you cannot do an automatic top up, you have to find a store and get it renewed. My renewal stopped working three days later, when I finally reached a Movistar store, they concluded their clerk who did the renewal had not done it properly, but refused to fix it without me paying for another renewal. Not impressed. My daughter had a seamless experience with Orange, but there were a few rural areas, particularly north of Salamanca, where she had minimal or no signal.
