We are starting our walk in O'Cebriero on Monday 31st August. We fly into Santiago on Sunday 30th August....due to land at 16.30. We where hoping to get to Pedrafita do Cebriero on Sunday night and walk up from there monday morning. Any ideas on best way to get here

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
I think you will have trouble reaching Pedrafita at a reasonable hour that night. There are several ALSA buses each day from Santiago. In summer the timetable may be different but at the moment the only one you could catch would not reach Pedrafita until 00:50. An 08:00 bus would get you there around 11:20. Staying overnight in Santiago and catching the early bus might be a better option.

Might make the bus to Sarria and then taxi

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
I looked into taking a bus to Pedrafita do Cebriero last December when there was snow and rain and a mess and didn't want to walk up that hill. There is a bus on Alsa (I think). Then you must take a taxi from there if I remember correctly.

Also, if you arrive that late make sure to book private accommodation in advance AND tell them that you are a late arrival.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
We took a bus from Madrid, left in the morning arrived early evening. It was quite comfortable, took about 5 hours or so if I remember, with a toilet break halfway somewhere. Stayed at a hotel in Pedrafita about 100 yds from the bus stop, Casa Pazos which was clean and comfortable. As we arrived a little off season the hotel restaurant was closed, but there was a nice place, Casa Garcia that did dinner and breakfast just a few minutes away. To get from Pedrafita to O Cebreiro you have to climb a long and steepish hill...we took a taxi arranged by the hotel to O Cebreiro in the morning. Other friends of mine took a horse ride up the hill, which might be a pretty cool start to the Camino...
