Bus to sarria

Time of past OR future Camino
Sarria to Santiago (2018)
Good day! I will be walking from Sarria with my friend in October this year. We are sailing into Santander (arriving around midday). We are hoping to get the bus from Santander to Sarria but not having much luck online as yet. We wondered if hiring a car one-way might be better (if we can get anyone to share with us...£110 for the car).
I would be interested in your ideas/thoughts for getting us to the beginning of our camino

Much love

Hi Rose,

Welcome to the forum. For some reason I love the idea of arriving into Spain by boat for the start of a Camino.

Rome2Rio is a very useful resource for planning trips but as you may have already discovered public transport options are a bit convoluted. For sheer convenience and economy I'd take the car hire option, it looks like a nice drive along the coast. But you could also take the train via Palencia and see some of the areas the Camino Frances goes through before Sarria. Depending on how much time you had you could even break the long journey up with a stop off in Leon.

Buen Camino,

Rob.
