Hi Everyone, a friend of mine in flying into Santiago and needs to get to Sarria on June 1, to join her walking group.

I have looked through the entries and found a schedule from Santiago to Lugo, with one bus company and then from Lugo to Sarria with another (thanks Falcon)

Is there an easier way to do this? Another challenge, June 1 is a Sunday. I know from experience buses don't really run on Sunday's or do they now?

Thanks for any help here. Ingrid

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).

The fastest, but also the more expensive, way is to take a taxi from the airport to Sarria.
Otherwise, the bus service from Santiago airport to Lugo and connection from Lugo to Sarria (from the same Lugo bus terminal) is the only reasonable way to travel. Check www.empresafreire.com timetable and connection with Monbus to Sarria.

Thanks Fraluchi, I passed it on. My friend originally was going to take the overnight train from Barcelona, it is rather expensive.

Thanks Fraluchi, I past on the information. My friend originally was going to take the sleeper train from Barcelona to Sarria, 1 way ticket is 197 Euros, flight must be cheaper. I wonder if the few euros one saves is worth all the hazzle of then procuring transportation Santiago/Sarria.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
