I don't believe John Brierley has ever authored a guide book of the Camino del Norte. I had to choose a different guidebook when I walked the Norte; and chose Dave Whitson's The Northern Caminos, which included the Primitivo.
Unless you enjoy using guidebooks for adding notes in your research, or to have as keepsakes, there are now many good apps for most routes online.

Yes, I like real, tangible paper guidebooks. I write notes in the margins that I glean from forum members before I go while I am doing my research. I then take screenshots before leaving home for the Camino, and the books go on a shelf with the others I have. I sometimes refer to them after the fact, to refresh my memory at times.
Are the guidebooks necessary any more?...not so much, but I still enjoy owning them.

If you know someone who will be in San Sebastian, there is a nice Guide to the Norte available at the Tourist Office. It is free and available in English. it is called The Northern Ways to Santiago. I used it to supplement planning for a Norte that I never took due to Covid. Just pulled it out the other day as my daughters expressed an interest in hiking the Norte in 2025. I just looked on my computer and saw that I have a PDF as well. If I remember correctly, I emailed the Tourist Office in Sab Sebastian and they sent me a PDF. I believe they also sent me a separate file with accomdations that might have only been for the Basque sections. It is called DoneJakue Aterpetxeak 2019 Euskadi - Kostaldea. It might have come from the Irun Tourist Office. I also used the Cicerone and Village to Village guide for planning.
