I'm loving it.I have just googled this book title and wow! It sounds a remarkable story and a good read.
Great to hear; I'm sold!I'm loving it.
Chrissy, World without end and Pillars of the Earth were both TV series a few years ago and very good tooGreat to hear; I'm sold!
I'm reading the 1000 page "World Without End", the second book in the series by Ken Follett, that follows "Pillars of the Earth". "The Crossway" will be next.
David, I saw them both, but I appreciate you mentioning them in case I hadn't...maybe it will alert others to the mini-series.Chrissy, World without end and Pillars of the Earth were both TV series a few years ago and very good too
I have just ordered "The Crossways" and will be bringing it with me on my annual winter get-a-way from the Midwest snow.I'm loving it.
I read Pillars of the Earth many years ago, when it was first published in 1989, and it definitely influenced my decision, several years later, to walk the Camino Frances. Equally influential was The Art of Pilgrimage: The Seeker's Guide to Making Travel Sacred by Phil Cousineau.Great to hear; I'm sold!

I read "Pillars of the Earth" before my first Camino and although fiction, it really helped me understand all that goes into the building of the amazing cathedrals I visited in Spain and elsewhere. Ken Follett did incredible research before writing his trilogy.I read Pillars of the Earth many years ago, when it was first published in 1989, and it definitely influenced my decision, several years later, to walk the Camino Frances. BBC 4 have been broadcasting it. Here is a thread about the broadcast and the book.I have just ordered "The Crossways" and will be bringing it with me on my annual winter get-a-way from the Midwest snow.
