Blind friend - suitable short distance near Lisbon?

Time of past OR future Camino
CF 2016, CP 2017, CF SJPP-Astorga 2021
I would like to inspire my dear friend who is blind to walk a short part of the Camino portugues with me in october 2017. I have walked the camino frances in March 2017 and he really wanted to do something similar one day, but thought it was impossible. I think he will enjoy it more than he can imagine. I will walk part of CP first time - from Porto to Santiago in May 2017. I would very much like him to experience a really nice part of CP not too far from Lisbon as he will travel there anyway in October 2017. I think we have to try out 3 days first and based on that experience - plan a longer distance later.

Do you have a suggestion of the perfect part of the camino near Lisbon; quiet, calm, not highway, but the path needs to be easy to walk on and wide enough to fit two persons side by side. I think 20 km a day would be enough for him.

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
While I can't help with suggestions for the CP last April/May we met a blind man walking with his friends on the Francés from Sarria to Santiago. They were an inspiration taking it in turns to hold either end of a wooden staff guiding their blind compañero who held onto a strap in the centre. Others would watch out for bikes and fast walkers coming up from behind and any potentials hazards ahead. The remaining pilgrim gave a detailed commentary of the scenery as they walked.

It was remarkable, inspiring and moving in so many ways and we learnt a lot listening in.

We didn't take any photos as we didn't want to intrude on their experience.

So do tell your friend that it is very, very possible. I wish you both well in your endeavour.

What you could do is walk a small part of the caminho do Mar .take the train from Lisbon to Estoríl and walk to Sintra ,a famous and beautifull place close by Lisbon
Here on the forum is the subforum "coastal route from Lisbon "
This is better than follow the traditional caminho out of Lisbon.
This only will be interesting when you reach Santarèm which is about 60 kms north of Lisbon. The first part only is an urban ,industrial and agricultural area.

Bom caminho

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
I commend you for even thinking of doing this, the camino is open to all and I'm sure your friend will experience something magical. Please let us know how you get on.
Buen Camino

Recently, two pilgrims from Brazil, one of them blind, walked the Inglés.

José Vicente de Paula was satisfied yesterday with his experience of "discovering the Camino" through sounds and smells, and even being able to "imagine" the Route through the eyes of his companion in this adventure. In some sections of the itinerary, he was able to guide his seeing companion solely through the "sound of the Camino, which the seeing people are not able to perceive."

For his part, Ricardo Carvajal confessed his satisfaction because he realized his project to achieve a "new view on the Camino de Santiago". He says that when he walked the French Way, he enjoyed it. "But this time I was able discover another Camino, which is the one that your other senses offer you. I could hear the sound of water, the noise of cars in the distance, appreciate the sound of trees, the smell of the meadow. This is the Camino, and I could see it thanks to Joseph »
