Getting back this October. Planning on Logrono to Burgos. We had train from Bilbao airport to logrono as part of the trip. Problem is our flight time changed and we can't make the train. Getting in to Bilbao airport at 7.30pm. Any recommendations for getting to logrono that night ?

Alava bus. Leaves Bilbao at 8.30. Arrives in Logroño at 10.15. One hour might prove too little time to get to the busstation in Bilbao. There are worse places to stay the night though.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Stay at Bilbao, take the earliest bus/train the next morning and start walking.

Rent a car and drive on your own to logrono should be posible to find a car rental where you can deliver the car in logrono.

But take into consideration that office hours of many rental car companies in Bilbao are limited. So no staff to deal with. And even more importantly no staff in Logroño to deliver the keys in person.
I would just stick to booking a room for the night in Bilbao and take public transport early next morning.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
Are you on a deadline to get to Logroño the same day that you arrive in Bilbao?
When I arrive in September it will be at 2300hrs at night and I will be staying over to get an early train the following morning. Bilbao is a nice place to stop over, is stopping not an option for you?

Hola @Brendan H
I agree with Sabine with this choice - for reasons above

!
Planning on Logrono to Burgos.
and also because a hire car (when you are obviously shooting for maybe 6days (+ or - )
could possibly add problems above and also because for me coming from Oz and driving on the opposite side of the road to EU (I think that is the case too in Ireland ?) …. easier to get a bus / tired 😴 and driving on the opposite side of the road … doesn’t (IMO , sound a safe way to start off.)

Enjoy Bilbao that first night if you can.

Bilbao is great! Terrific streets of tapas (or pintxos as they are in Basque Country) bars. And then there is the Guggenheim which is a fabulous building - worth seeing the building even if you don't go inside.

Thanks for all the advice. Think staying in Bilbao is the front runner. It's going to be great to get back on the trail.
