Best way to get from Madrid to Sarria

We will be beginning the Camino at Sarria, but are flying into Madrid. I'm having difficulty finding the quickest and or most reasonable way of getting to Sarria. I'm working with a travel agent who is saying that train sleeper beds are only offered as singles or gender specific. Meaning my husband and I have to spend 8 hrs on the train alone? Could that possibly be true?? We were hoping to get sleeper seats together for the overnight trip.
Are there busses from Madrid to Sarria? Would that be faster and more econimical? Can anyone help me with suggestions? Thanks!!

If you don't want to go by train there are many more buses which you could take to Lugo. http://www.alsa.es Routes and Schedules Madrid Lugo

Then there is a half hour bus to Sarria.

Or, you could fly to Santiago on a cheap flight and get Ivar's taxi service to Sarria.

Best place to meet between Burgos and Santiago

I'm resuming my Camino in Burgos next week, and have allowed myself 28 days to get to Santiago, on to Finisterre, and back home to London.

Some of my family want to come and join me en route, and I wonder - where is a good place to suggest that we up? For example Leon, Astorga or Sarria? And what is the best way to advise them to travel (assuming they come via Barajas/Madrid)?

All advice appreciated.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Quickest way is to fly Madrid to Santiago. Empresa Freire provides bus service to the airport connecting to Santiago and to Lugo. There is bus service from Lugo to Sarria. I'd guess flying to A Coruna and train from A Coruna would work too.

Train from Madrid is MUCH faster than bus.
