An article in today's Correo Gallego highlights the economic benefits the Camino, and especially the Camino Frances, has brought to the communities along the route. Communities that 15-20 years ago were teetering on the brink of extinction have been rejuvenated by the money that pilgrims have spent, in existing shops and bars, and in new services that have sprung up, such as rooms in private houses.
