Bedbugs in France

Just saw on the news a few days ago that Paris public transport has a parasite problem, bedbugs!! Has anyone else seen or heard about this?

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Did you do a search on this forum? I saw a post about it earlier this week.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
Ah, our oldest companions. Traces of bed-bug have been found amongst Neanderthal remains. I guess one of their survival strategies has been that they are not any known disease vector. Ensure your host remains available. They'd probably have been fully paid up members of CND if only they could have read the pamphlets.

I haven't seen any putative explanation for why the out-break in Paris has reached such spectacular levels though EC restrictions on Pesticides, Budgetary restraints and that French inclination to ignore anything that doesn't have a significant impact on moi may all be contributors.

Anyone interested in male urine traces in free peanut bowls in bars; poo traces on New York subway seating or why you should never drink the freshly squeezed orange juice in the djemaa el fna, marrakech: the Internet is your friend...

I expect the source will eventually be traced to a Pilgrim who failed to spray their Backpack & sleeping bag with Permethrin but thats an explanation available to the public enquiry that will no doubt be held in a decade or so and probably not in Paris.

Me? I just smile at the thought that, recently at least, humanity is faced with the shocking revelation that bed-bugs are not unique to the Albergues of the Camino Frances (Frances! Ah, that explains it!!)

Just curious. I'm sure we ran a poll somewhere. But I wonder in any given year, what the % of return Pilgrims might be? A large proportion of us here seem to 'repeat offenders' but we are only a...
The Camino Planner As the click-clack of walking sticks fades here in Santiago, the tap-tap of my keyboard picks up with exciting changes planned for 2025. Earlier this summer, we published the...
