Apparently after recent bad weather there is a problem, the land beneath rail tracks has become unstable in places. Yesterday I read that until further notice there will be a bus replacing this train service to SJPP.
 
...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).

Yes, using a bus replacement service is very straightforward especially at smaller train stations. I just wanted to warn anyone who might be puzzled when greeted with "aujourd'hui il n'y a pas de train".

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Darn!!! I had to take the bus in 2014, and as a train freak . . . errrr I mean 'enthusiast' I was looking forward to taking the train on the 24th of this month.
 
Perhaps the repairs will be finished by then. ( fingers crossed )

It is a lovely train ride. In 2012 we did the journey in both directions.
 
Thanks all for this information. I'm travelling from Bayonne to SJPDP in early April. Just having this as a 'heads up' is ideal for a solo walker with no sense of direction...!
