It's a bit embarrassing to ask, but has anyone here experience with a very (!) late night arrival in Bayonne?
I could buy a very cheap ticket to get there which would be my only chance to walk at least a week on the Francés this year, but I would arrive in Bayonne at 1:30 am .
Hotel with 24h check-in or similar is not an option because of low budget, I would have to stay at the train station or something like that until the departure of the first train to St. Jean.
Has anyone experience of spending the night at the train station, or maybe you know a bar that is still open that time of the night?
No problem or not a good idea for a tired pilgrim spending the night out in the open there?
I know Bayonne (have been there several times) and think it should be fine, but if someone else has done the same and lived to tell the tale it would be reassuring .
Thanks in advance for any advice or opinions.
