A hard path but I love that descent. Hopefully the "swimming pool" is warm enough!Well, I'm heading down the big hill into Molinaseca...although limping a bit as I have a sore heel. But, never mind - a glass or two of wine will help the pain. Buen caminos Trudgers!
Hello @Anamya ! You can add my name in, for sure. You'll enjoy the walk, the virtual Camino. Chatting with the others along the Way makes it more real & fun. Buen Camino!I'm very late to the party and just started at St Jean today in Walking4Fun.
I'm Anamya or Ana P, #16517 .
How can I find more forum people on the trail? Or has everyone finished already?
Edit: ok, i found out that if I add people, I can see them on the map. Added some of you, please let me know if you don't want to be added!
Congratulations! You earned your virtual Compostela as well as your certificates from Muxia and Finisterre.Hi all. I came back to this thread to find out where you all are. It has been really enjoyable, lazing in bed catching up with your caminos. What is lovely for me are the descriptions, that those of you who have walked for real, have added. So wanting to add my own ......, one day. Well I did go on to Muxia and Finistère, finishing on 6 July. I’m now 3/4 of the way around the Tahoe Rim Trail. I chose that as my next hike as I had worked near there a few years back and it was a beautiful place to walk. Less mms recently as I’ve been hosting a French student and have now started with the stream of visiting grandchildren, for their holidays. I will be dropping back in to follow your adventures. Buen Camino.

Of course, at this moment, you don’t know... but I sincerely hope you will. It was my first camino, and I am utterly grateful for the entire experience. I did not know if I would make it to the end of the first day... or the second... but I did! i was 58 and a lazy non active person. It did not take too long to be converted! Day three, from Cizur Menor, having begun in Roncesvalles, was such an achievement - some ‘friends‘ having told me I would never manage El Perdón. No problem. In fact I have walked that section three times since. Please, even if it is only virtually - revel in having reached Santiago!Sue127, good to hear from you! I saw you had continued to Fisterra, thinking of doing the same myself. I've never walked the Camino Frances, don't know if I ever will, but I've enjoyed seeing all the pics & scenery. I've nearly reached SdeC now but don't want to finish, lol. How's the Tahoe Rim Trail? Good scenery? Are you going to do another walk after that? I'm going to check out the other walks on here. It's been good chatting with others from the Forum, makes it more interesting. Let us know where you go next.
Haha, @kirkie, I'll be in SdeC soon, for the third time, but IRL I approached from Portugal so I'm looking forward to seeing all the photos of the Camino Frances approach. I'm also looking forward to attending the English Mass & I'm remembering the gorgeous chapel the Mass was celebrated in. I will be walking on to Muxia & Fisterra after a couple of days so keep watching.Of course, at this moment, you don’t know... but I sincerely hope you will. Hahaha!I started the Scottish Highland Way - as I come from a town near the start - but switched over to. C.F. I will go back to that one. It is more likely I could do it in real time than any others in the list. You would get lots of company on the Scottish Highland Way. Here are two links, there many more...

Enjoy your new trail!Wow, you’ve all moved n since I last checked. Holidays with grandchildren didn’t stop me walking but I hadn’t checked to see were my feet had taken me. Imagine my surprise when I flout that I had completed the Tahoe Ridge Trail and W4F decided to choose a new trail for me. I was going to choose one in the Uk, but apparently I’m 13% of the way into the John Muir Trail. I’ve never been there but have driven near (relatively) on the way to Death Valley. The trail certainly looks tough later on, so I’m very happy to be doing this virtually. @Levi , you must be nearly there now. Are you going on past Santiago ? I love all your descriptions, so will keep coming back to see where you all are. Take care
Congratulations from far off Fromista!Well, I've reached Santiago and I'm feeling that familiar mix of pleasure ( in being here ) and pain (because the walking is done). I love this city - so many memories...
I'll trudge on to Finisterre and then maybe hop on a bus to Porto...
Buen Caminos lovely Trudgers - thank you for your company

Anybody who is near me, do give a shout. I would hate to think I just walked past you...
Awwww, thank you!!You struck a sympathy chord in my heart so i pulled out all the stops and got you this. Will it do as a compensatory Compostela???
Call me what you will, just don't call me late for my dinnerOops, @Jeff Crawley, I used the wrong name, sorry. @Sue127, where are you walking now? Enjoy your new trail. @Anamya , I'm glad you're keeping in touch. I followed your progress till I reached Fisterra.
You've all been great neighbours!
Levi, I walked the Portuguese Camino in 2017 also, & again in 2019. First time I walked from Lisbon to Fatima, bused to Porto, then walked the Central to SdeC. Loved it all! Second time I walked from Lisbon to the first day past Coimbra, was horrified at the totally unsafe road walking so hopped a bus to Porto. Then I walked the Coastal/Senda Litoral, with detours, to SdeC. I loved that route too! Only missed the Spiritual Variant. One day! Enjoy the virtual, does it offer the Coastal?Olá Lovely Trudgers! I'm now walking the virtual Portuguese Camino from Lisbon. I walked this camino for real in 2017 and I have to say it was my least favourite camino. Too much road walking, some very dangerous. Although also some beautiful towns - Santarem, Coimbro...
So, I'm looking forward to this traffic free virtual version.
Buen caminos Trudgers- keep on keeping on...
Go, @kirkie ! I hope you find the foot bath, lol.Nearly ten km done on route to Astorga. Great! Looking forward to getting there. Can’t wait to dip my toes into the foot bath in the albergue. I don’t even want to know if it is open. I will wait to be either dismayed or raging... now is now.
Welcome to the Trudgers! Surprise yourself, beat your own time record! Only joking. Enjoy every step.I just joined Walkingy4Fun and am starting from St Jean today. I am sure it will take me even longer to get to Orisson than it did the first time.
You are all so far ahead of me, I hope I see you sometime.
Take your time, we're not in any hurry (said he who started out on 23rd March and still hasn't reached Leon!)I just joined Walkingy4Fun and am starting from St Jean today. I am sure it will take me even longer to get to Orisson than it did the first time.

Oh, @Levi, I remember that day's walk! I didn't make it the first time, caught a ride for the last 4km to Santarem thanks to Mario from the albergue sending a cab for me. That last 16km stretch on a really hot day was hard. But....the second time I was better prepared & it wasn't so hot so I walked all the way. Lots of grapes!@igailfh - I've left Azumbuja heading for Santarem. In my diary for this actual walk I've written, "villages sheltering behind flood barriers, tiny houses coated in tiles. Storks following a tractor. A hoopoo. Stopping in small bar for a beer. Walking on top of the flood barrier. Walking miles through vines, Santarem on a hill in the distance..."
So pleased you made it, @Bala! One day I will see Muxia for real. Enjoy the walk to Finisterre.I am in Muxia!Wow! The Atlantic never looked so beautiful.
I'll go to mass and get a pilgrim blessing, then join a couple other pilgrims for an awesome dinner - fresh grilled fish, of course - on the harbor. At least that's how it went in real time, October 2018.
Then off tomorrow for Finnisterre. Almost at the end. Keep on trudging, pilgrims.
@lavender girl! All power to you to get up those mountains. Good idea to stay at Orisson overnight. It sounds like a great place. Buen Camino! After cruising around gleaning heaps of information from the excellent posts in this forum I set off today to retrace my Camino footsteps of 2017 and 2018 Starting in St Jean today and making it to Orisson tonight as I did originally. I am elated to have begun Walking4fun and contentedly sit here already surrounded by my much used maps, credential and Guide book as my new adventure unfolds. Today I reached Orisson I hope to qualify as an ‘old trudger’ as that title well and truly fits. The roughest of plans in mind, with luck, has me walking into Santiago sometime late in November.
@Desert Bruce, don't chase any bulls! I hope you meet some pilgrims along the Way again. Buen Camino!I am nearly to Pamplona. I began my second Camino there in September 2017 because I couldn't face the climb from St Jean. We spent the day before exploring, buying food and our credenciales. In the morning before starting off two ladies asked us if they could walk with us to find the way. One became a recurring feature of my Camino all the way to Santiago.
Thank you for your encouragement I am so unfit but loving every minute, every memory .....@lavender girl! All power to you to get up those mountains. Good idea to stay at Orisson overnight. It sounds like a great place. Buen Camino!
Thank you for your encouragement I needed it to get to the summit....whew made it....only just....@Jeff Crawley, no need to hurry. You're doing other good things. I hope to see Leon one day. I'm hoping to walk the Camino Madrid (when there's a reliable vaccine & fewer restrictions) to Sahagun & walk on to Leon.
@lavender girl, I hope your health improves with your walking regime. Take it easy, short walks are fine. You can sleep on the trail overnight & deem every night to be warm & dry, every sleeping place to be soft & welcoming, & breakfast ready every morning!
@Bala, how was Finisterre? Where will your next virtual trail take you? Buen Camino!
@kirkie, pity about the job, but now you're free! A reliable vaccine, fewer restrictions, & you'll be free to go. I do my Caminos solo but nobody stays alone unless they choose to. I found I liked walking alone, just chatting to passers by for a bit, then socialising at the albergues. No need to be nervous, all will be well, except when it rains. I don't do rain, lol. Buen Camino!
I have less than a minute - well done! I must add up all my kms and post tomorrow...I just passed through Estella.
When I was here last it was early Sunday morning during a fiesta weekend, people will still drinking in the streets as we trudged by. The wine fountain was nearly bone dry, I got a single drop, then it was dry.
I am very happy to see your photos. I do not remember that large sign though, so I guess there has been some kind of upgrading since 2006. Sweet Lord! How innocent I was! Such a dope! I mean that. I had wasted years of my life but I learned. Isn’t that the secret? I am really getting a tick about walking it again, although the chances of the same time frame are poor. Maybe in two halves...This is the little track between Rabanal and Foncebadon I am not sure if it is on the left or right side of the road. There are lovely spiritual woods to walk through On this stage. It was here I ran out of water on the trail and begged some from a resting pilgrim who shared that his water bottle had once been filled at Lourdes and I could possibly be the recipient of a drop from that source. How amazing is the Camino of Francis? It delivers small miracles along the way! Buen Camino. ( please tell me if you don’t want me to post my 2017/18 photos)View attachment 83376
Half way to Santo Domingo, from Najera. Ah well, the weather is perfect, I will set up the tent shortly. Hasta mañana chicos! (Inclusive language)

Nice post, @igailth. Just sitting getting my energy back. Walked from Dunlaoghaire to my home, East Wall. Smarty pants Google says it is 2 hours 21 minutes. How is that for precision? I have news for Mr Google. Took me a lot longer. I felt the elasticity disappearing, sinking out through my shoes! Anyway, after a salty snack am feeling fine. And actually, not too bad at all. I think that is due to the almost daily practice of at least 10,000 steps. Now,m walk4fun tells me I have passed through Ponferrada and am about 7 km beyond. Must sit down and have a break. In real time, I would have had a smoke break. Gave that up almost 4 years ago. I loved smoking. But I stopped and haven’t had one since. I spent my smokes money on the ipad I am writing this on! I gave myself a full year’s warning, and kept to it. It can be done. Glad you liked the video.

Dodged lockdown in Leon and am just short of San Martin del Camino. For various reason haven't been walking as much recently and need to pick up the pace. Astorga's not far away and then there's Ponferada and pretty soon Santiago (by Christmas?)Hi Trudgers
Are you still trudging? I know @Sue127 has swopped virtual for reality and is experiencing the real thing. I'm not a bit jealous of course.
In my virtual world I'm in Portugal. I've walked from Lisbon and now just leaving Porto. Hope you're all well...
In my virtual world I'm in France, about 100 miles along the Chemin Le Puy. It's been going slowly, life here at home is picking up - not such a bad thing - but I'm out when I can be.Hi Trudgers

Help! Where have the smileys gone?
Too clever by half! And I just found the smileys.
Keep safe Kirkie.Another hour and a bit to Portomarin. Time for a cup of tea in real life. Walked the legs off myself dealing with a bit of business before level 5 kicks in tomorrow. Now, a rest. One of these days I must check out where you all are. Virtually of course...
I hope you did not miss this in Oban...it is a special offer.Well, in the virtual world I'm just on the border between Portugal and Spain. That bridge was a lot of fun... 'now I'm in Spain...now I'm in Portugal...oh, back in Spain...'
In the real world I'm also very fortunate as I'm in lovely Oban on the west coast of Scotland. Albeit huddled under a restaurant umbrella in the rain (needed a glass of wine which restaurants aren't at the moment allowed to serve indoors).
Really, in these perilous times I'm very thankful and taking nothing for granted anymore.
Buen camino Trudgers. Stay safe.
I'm on LePuy now, going slowly, so you might even catch up after you start. My W4F name is Jean /Bala, easy to connect.Hello Trudgers! I just learned about this thread but am on W4F since April, walking the Frances a little at a time. Almost in Finisterre now. I think I will hop on the Le Puy after that. By the way, I’m Peregrina on W4F. Will be happy to look for other trudgers! Keep on trudging!
Of course I didn't miss this special offer @kirkie! Such good value I bought two...one for me and one for you!I hope you did not miss this in Oban...it is a special offer.View attachment 85679
