We are flying into Madrid before taking a bus to Irun where we will start our Camino del Norte. We have luggage that needs to be stored, so we searched for a hotel to stay in that would keep it while we were walking. We were worried about it though, since it contained valuable electronics. We found a much better option! Use a self-storage facility. We went with BlueSpace, located near the main Atocha station. They have 1msq storage units for just 50Euro/month, with top security. This also prevented us from having to spend a night in Madrid, thus saving us a lot of money and anxiety about our stuff. We booked online with BlueSpace beforehand, in English. They give you a code and all you have to do is show up the day of, enter the code, an you've got your storage. The fees are prorated, so if you need it for six weeks, you only pay 75Euro, not 100. Hope this helps out some pilgrims in similar situations!

Good info.... I'm probably going to Correos my bags from Madrid to S.D.C. so I can have them for the few days before returning to Madrid. They will hold the bags for 15 days, but we plan to arrive in S.D.C. the Saturday right before Easter Sunday so I'll probably use Ivar's service. Must check his hours though... We won't return to Madrid until Tuesday night...
