Anyone starting from June 21st? Hows weather like in June/July?

Hi everyone!
Me and my friend are starting our journey on the 21st of June. Is anyone starting on the same date?
We are leaving from LAX and arriving to Porto on the 20th (Early Morning). So basically we are going to explore Porto for a day, and start walking from the 21st.

I am kind of done packing, but I am not sure how's the weather going to be during my walk, so I am still deciding what to pack.. Does anyone have ideas of how it is going to be like? And do you guys think it will be busy during late June/ early July?
I heard it usually gets really busy at that time but my guess/hope's like in this year, it wont bee as busy as it used be because of the World Cup.. What do you guys think ?

We are not having one of the best springs so far in terms of weather, but usually, at the end of June, the heat starts to kick in. I think that you can pack for a Summer Caminho, but still take a fleece for the night because it can get cold, and/or a soft shell jacket.

After Easter, the "rush hour" on the Caminho Português begins. I remember that we are already breaking records in the number of pilgrims in some Albergues (Ponte de Lima for example).

Your plan seems great to me, but it still has some killer days, in my own opinion. If you are used to hike you won't have any problem with doing 30 or + km. If not, I would try to divide that a little bit. The Caminho not busy because of the World Cup it's a mistake, because a lot of people also run away from the World Cup to do other things: Caminho included.

Skip the Albergue in Valença, it's not worth it. Plus, if you sleep in Tui, you'll gain an hour on the other day (Portugal uses GMT, and Spain GMT+1).

The best is to walk from Porto to Vila do Conde and than direction São Pedro de Rates and Barcelos.
Between Barcelos and Ponte de Lima stop at casa da Fernanda at Vitorino dos Piaës for the night. Great experience ! Bom caminho

Hey Jake - the coast has been a beautiful walk for me. The weather has been good with some darker clouds but no rain yet. I hear it is supposed to rain this weekend though so be sure to bring a poncho and/or a backpack rain cover. My first stop was at Villa Chà and slept at the "campismo" there for about €4 with just a sleeping pad/bag if you can handle that but warm showers and everything you need!
