I'm flying to Madrid tomorrow and will have Tuesday and Wednesday and part of Thursday with some flexibility. Anyone going to be there and want to meet up for a cafe or vino tinto? Buen camino, Laurie

Argh, I'm not envious. Trying to keep a straight face here .
Have fun ladies

Oh, I wish I could... But I'll be in Madrid for four days before Easter seeing old friends, and then my husband is joining me to walk north from there once his Easter vacation starts. I don't think we'll make it all the way to the Francés, but you never know.

Holoholo automatically captures your footpaths, places, photos, and journals.
trouble is, Madrid and back requires an overnight, and I am deep into a book project, and will be at the big Villalon fiesta all weekend, myself! Can't stay away from home for very long!
You'll be back...

I didn't really expect to see you on this trip, Reb. Fingers crossed for July.

Have a great time in Villalon and report back on all the inside information you gather there! I had my very own private hospitalero in that albergue -- he made me a late lunch, took me across the street for coffee, took me on a tour of the town, then out for vino in the plaza. The next morning he accompanied me for the first 9 or 10 kms (after serving me breakfast of course). Those Villalon folks sure know how to pamper a peregrina!

Is it true that one of the architects of the Burgos cathedral did the pillory at Villalon, or is that another one of those camino myths?

My birth town! Such a temptation. Sure you will have a great time - so much to see, do, eat and drink - enjoy
