We complain about snorers and "tourigrinos." We complain that we have to walk an extra 5k to the next town because an albergue is full. But we don't have to worry about being trampled on our way to the Cruz de Ferro. We don't have to worry about being suffocated in an overwhelming mob of people when we line up to see where St. James rests.
Although there seems to be a severe divide between the middle-east and the western world, these pilgrims aren't much different that those of us who go to Santiago. We are all searching for something and looking to be part of something bigger than ourselves. Please keep these fellow travelers in your thoughts and prayers.
