We do worry about upper body fitness don't we?
And if we don't, well then by golly we should.
Surely it therefore makes sense to introduce into our pre-Camino fitness program some form of exercise that will help in this regard.
With this in mind I would like to introduce a favourite one of mine for your consideration.
I found it on a running website.
I do so hope it is helpful.
The Great Tato Exercise Regime
One should commence by standing on an even, comfortable surface.
Ensure there is plenty of room to each side.
Now, with a 2-lb potato bag in each hand, extend your arms straight out from your sides and hold them there as long as you can. Try to reach a full minute then relax.
Each day you'll find you can hold this position for just a bit longer. After a few weeks move up to 5-lb bags.
Then try 10-lb potato bags and then eventually try to get to where you can lift a 20-lb potato bag in each hand and hold your arms out straight for more than a full minute.
(I’m at this level.)
After you feel confident at this level, try putting a potato in each bag.
Regards
Gerard
PS
Sometimes I feel as though I don't contribute much to the "Helpful to Pilgrims" part of this forum. I hope this goes some way to make up for that.
