It took me about half an hour (maybe a bit longer) to walk to the bus station from the cathedral. It may or may not be relevant to your question Justine but the bus to the airport also leaves from a main square (Galicia?) quite close to tourist office. This bus then stops at bus station on route to airport.
Hola - The airport bus leaves from Rua Doctor Teixeiro which is just off of the Plaza Galica. The whole journey to the airprort from the Plaza Galcia to the airport is less than 30 mins.
If I remember correctly the bus for the Bus Station leaves from Bus Stop 5 in the Plaza Galicia - it is on the conrer of the Plaza Galicia with the large Ironmongers shop.
