I arrive to Lisbon on the 20/07/2016, in Lisbon the Posada de Juventud is open, is not alberge, it cost €16,50 as pilgrim, on Alverca, is not open the alberge, private cost €15, Azambuja, Santarem the same history. Take in consideration your budget, albergues €15 plus food other €10-15, plus whatever you want to drink. Camino Portuguese, no cheap at all, mostly overpriced, I am enjoying it? No!!!

Sometimes the cheapest holiday is NO holiday.

Train for your next Camino on California's Santa Catalina Island March 16-19
Last year when i walked the route I found the camino portuguese great value. Hostels were a little more expensive but in general were of a great standard. Food was unbelievably reasonably priced & excellent. Morning coffee & breakfast also very cheap but excellent quality. Can't wait to revisit the route.

If you are not enjoying your cheap holiday perhaps you should consider Greece or Turkey where there are serious bargains to be had.
Last Year I make Camino del Norte, I was comparing the price as a PILGRIM =)
Camino de Santiago is not a HOLIDAY for me is a PILGRINATION , when I want holidays I know exactly where to go and is definetely no CHEAP
