Albergue in Villavieja — Updated contact information (2/22)

I have just received an email from the Ayuntamiento in Priaranza del Bierzo, which is the municipal government for Villavieja. They confirm that the albergue is open, though there is currently no hospitalero (see this thread for information on the bidding process that is underway).

The email and phone numbers listed in Gronze are incorrect. I have sent them the updated info, let’s see how that goes. Anyway, here’s what you need to know to stay there.

You must contact the ayuntamiento directly a few days ahead of time to arrange. They will give you a code to enter in a black box outside the door of the albergue.

email: aytopriaranza@ccbierzo.com

telephone: Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am -2:00 pm: 987 42 08 06
Telephone at other times: 666 37 8988 (this number is on WhatsApp).

Price: 10€, to be left in the box inside th albergue.

Albergue has microwave, refrigerator, washing and dryer, towels and sheets.

Perfect memento/gift in a presentation box. Engraving available, 25 character max.
And a quick update. I sent the information to Gronze about four hours ago, and their website has already changed so that it now has the correct email and telephone number for the albergue.

So I would really encourage forum members to hit that “contacto” button down on the lower left when you see Gronze information that is out of date.

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
Thanks! We definitely plan to stay there. We will start the day in Molinaseca and this is the perfect distance! L
I’m pretty sure you know this already, but for anyone planning to stay in Villavieja — there are no services, no food, no bar. I think the consensus has been that the safest thing is to buy it in Ponferrada. There are a few villages with bars along the way, and I think I remember someone saying there is a grocery store in Toral de Merayo, but the best idea is probably to play it safe and carry it from Ponferada.
