Albergue in Oviedo closed till January 1

My friend in Oviedo sent me a notice that the albergue will be closed for the Christmas holidays. The notice says it will be closed until January 1, so I’m not completely sure whether that means it reopens on January 1 or January 2. Luckily, Oviedo has a huge supply of private accommodations, so no one will be stranded.

Well, the plot is a little thicker than the headline. The government has said that the closure is to allow for needed maintenance during a time of low traffic. The socialist opposition has said that the city’s Department of Hotels and Tourism did not renew the rental contract in time to prevent the closure. Stay tuned!
