Advice for Paris to Le Puy (when arriving late in day)

Time of past OR future Camino
yes
Hello all,
I am seriously considering walking from Le Puy to Conques (maybe Figeac) and then training to SJPP to continue on the Camino Frances.
My flight gets into CDG on a Sunday afternoon (5pm) and so I am not sure how to go about reaching Le Puy without delays and high accommodation prices in Paris.

I have looked into air prices from CDG to Lyon and they seem pricey, so taking a train seems the wisest option. Is there a gite you can recommend near the station in Lyon?
(I may be arriving rather late).
I know the Le Puy Way is a truly beautiful walk and so am wondering whether I can dream this into a realtiy on a modest budget.

Thank you kindly in advance!

Marji,

Try this site in English for hostels in Lyon. >>http://www.hostelworld.com/findabed.php/ChosenCity.Lyon/ChosenCountry.France. There is also a handy map reference.

I was actually hoping for info for a budget hostel near Lyon part dieu train station.
Can anyone recommend a specific hostel in this area?

One possibility is "Hotel Premiere Classe", 75 Boulevard Marius Vivier Merle, Lyon. Max 5 min walk & on same street (& same side of street) as Lyon Part Dieu station. Approx 67 euros per night. have a great walk. Lynbru.

checking at www. booking.com i found several hotels near Lyon Part-Dieu with prices around 60 euros as f.i. Hotel Athena Part- Dieu 50 m from the station. When do you start from Le Puy? I will do the same route to Figeac and from there to Hendaye to walk the north to Santander.
