We have booked one night in the abbey but would like to stay two nights in Conques. We were told we could only be there for one night, so has anyone a recommendation for a second night's accommodation, as we probably will need to book as it will be a public holiday(May, 8th)?
Thanks

I stayed in the communal gite for two nights, and was able to book for the two nights. The Abbey was full and I never had the opportunity to stay there, but the communal gite was very central and had a good kitchen to cook in.

Holoholo automatically captures your footpaths, places, photos, and journals.
In Conques I got stuck in the hotel down by the bridge (yes, that means the entireity of town was uphill from me!). Not recommended.

Hi Sharon

Run into the same issue. We want to stay in Conques for two nights but in late May the Abbey will only allow one night. So we have booked a B&B in town - a bit expensive, so we are thinking that the communal gite might be a better choice for the extra night

We are doing your walk?

There is a lovely campground at the bottom of the hill, along the river, that has small cabins available for the night.

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
Thanks everyone for your suggestions. Will try the communal gite first.

Hi there, I'm considering walking from Le Puy to St. Jean next spring if I can get my French up to par. I'm looking on advice on a few things: - Would it be too cool and rainy to start walking...
