When I travel and visit large cities, I get up at dawn to experience the quiet and wander the streets of the city before it wakes. I enjoyed this article in The Guardian today.

I think I am an accomplished flâneur ..... in fact the concept describes my journey through life spectacularly!! (Oh and I'm a long-time Baudelaire fan.)

Is a flaneur, flaneuse specifically an urban walker? Or are pilgrims, in a sense, long distance flaneurs?

When I travel I take advantage of jetlag and get up extra early to walk around the city when it is quite and empty and watch the city waking up.
