A bizarre question

I know that this is not really a Camino question BUT the Australian football grand final will be on here early on Saturday morning and we will be in Carrion de la Condes. We have fond memories of watching this final in New York, Nepal and London in the past and was wondering if anyone has any ideas where we might see this in Carrion? ie do hotels have international sports, bars? The towns before and after seem very small. Any ideas gratefully received

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).

Everything is possible of course but Carrion de los Condes is not that big a town to begin with. Just saw that bookingdotcom has some new places in Carrion but they are certainly not like the international chain hotels that provide specialised TVsportchannels.
The bars and cafetarias in Carrion are the traditional Spanish ones and TV most probably will be showing Primera Division aka premier league classic European football.

Your best bet might be to look for good wifi connection and watch it online?

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
There is a cafe on the plaza that has its TVs on sports and bullfights. They would be a good possibility. I think it is this one:
Plaza Mayor S/N, 34120 Carrión de los Condes, Palencia, Spain

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

Get out your iPhone or iPad you should be able to hear the ABC Radio call - but with the 2.30 PM (Aus Eastern Time) or 6.30 Spanish Summer Time kick-off you might have to plan a rest day or be prepared to walk the 17 km starting after 9.30/10.00. Oh BTW the AFL is Adelaide Crows v Richmond Tigers! (Go the Crows)!:):D

By odd coincidence I was staying at the San Zoilo about 7 years ago (on the western outskirts of Carrion) and was called upon by four Ozzies to use my abysmal Castilian to beg the barman to turn the television to some football thing or the other. He did so, to his bemusement (was there futbol in other countries??) and the antipodeans watched with a level of interest which I could only call psychotic. When asked by the barman if I liked the game, I told him that "Yo prefiero el futbol de las mujeres. Es mucho mas elegant."

As it is now Sunday, I am afraid that my post has come far too late to be of any use.

Not too late Oursonpolaire, the game is next Saturday. We like to share our game with locals but if we must use the phone we will.

in 2015 we were walking when the All Blacks played Australia and no views except soccer, tense because Australia had won the first game. All Blacks done good and won second game. Camino rocks

So the game is over and Richmond Tigers won. No TV so we walked with a live commentary through the early darkness before dawn. Another memorable grand final for us. Thank you for all your suggestions

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

You didn't miss anything. It was a very ordinary game.
