Forever Pilgrim
Time of past OR future Camino
2009-2022: CFx6, CP, VdlPx2, Mozarabe, more later.
I was checking the website for the Nidaros pilgrimage in Norway, when I found an article not yet translated to English, but which I thought I would share with you. I have run it through Google Translate with so-and-so result, but I believe you will get the meaning anyway:

http://translate.google.com/translate?j ... d%3D890318

I found many thruths in that article.

The whole site (English) is here:

http://www.pilegrim.info/en/

One of the forum members, lovingkindness, now has up a thread with beautiful pictures of that Norwegian pilgrimage route:

long-distance-pilgrims-f93/topic9259.html

As a Norwegian, I must say that some of the pitcures presented are really showing some of Norway's natural beauty  Thanks :!:

Norwegian authorities are working on establishing this as the northernmost pilgrimage, and are also working on connecting it to Santiago de Compostela routes. I must say I find it tempting to walk it.

I suppose this information has been written somewhere, sometime before, but the way it is configured on this website really speaks to me. It has become part of my camino preparation and meditation.

Thanks for that.

I also look forward to any further exploration of this pilgrimage, and of course final reflections from lovingkindness.

You live in quite a remarkable, magical place!

Only the first name my dear. But it's a well kept secret, fortunately  When you read about fjords and mountains in Scandinavia, you are reading about Norway, specifically. Not Sweden. Not Denmark. Not Finland. Fjords and mountains of Scandinavia are the West and North cost of Norway. Period

As I understand it, Lovingkindness has now completed the Way of St. Olav, and is now heading down Europe in order to connect to the way of Santiago. What a girl :!:

How nice to hear that. Very kind of you. Yes, we are proud of our country, and imagine: We have our own camino, connected to Santiago all the way back from the middle ages! The tracks are now being marked, all the way, as I understand it, Mayors from the different counties along the Norwegian Way were in SdC (and walked some part of the camino) last autunm in order to to learn more about how to establish a proper pilgrim route up here :!:

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
