AS AN ACTIVITY OF CARDIAC REHABILITATION
48 heart patients will tour the end of the Camino de Santiago
A group of forty-eight pilgrims, including heart disease and patients with different companions, going to go walk the last 100 miles of the Camino de Santiago from 9 to 14 September.
This initiative is part of the business plan that the Madrid Association United Hearts for Health program each year which helps the Spanish Heart Foundation.
This association consists of over 250 members with various cardiovascular diseases, such as having had an acute myocardial infarction, angina, hypertension, patients who have undergone surgery were coronary arteries or a valve implanted, transplanted, patients with pacemakers, coronary angioplasty, etc.and have gone through the cardiac rehabilitation program at Hospital General Universitario Gregorio Marañón in Madrid.
This is the eighth consecutive year in which will tour in five days the last stretch of the Camino de Santiago known as "English way" from Neda to Santiago Compostela to achieve.
With this activity the United Hearts Association seeks to complement the very positive for exercise participants with the experience of the Camino de Santiago, of great cultural, tourist and religious interest, while continuing with Phase III cardiac rehabilitation his heart.
This car have a support group expected over three points along each stage, a semi-automatic defibrillator and specialized guide.
