The agreement, signed by the Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Government of Navarra, Juan Ramón Corpas Mauleón, Heritage and the head of the Archbishopric, Javier Aizpún, in the Church of San Pedro de Puente la Reina, the Department provides a contribution 40,000 euros to ensure the opening of the buildings and the publication of brochures.
Of the 32 churches and monuments, 29 are on the Camino Francés. The entrance to the churches and monuments will be free for the general public, except for guided tours in each case may hold.
This initiative forms part of the program Road Star 2010, a cooperation protocol signed by the five communities by running the French Way (Aragon, Castilla y León, Galicia, La Rioja and Navarra) to provide a comprehensive picture of Route Pilgrim, coordinate cultural activities and heritage preservation of care and protection to pilgrims.
Another of those activities organized jointly by the five communities are milestones on the road, visiting 25 sites proposed representative along the route because of its significance Jacobean.
