Hello - my wife and I only have 10 days in July to walk the CLP, which segments would you recommend. We prefer small villages over big urbain centres and would like to walk an average of about 25K/day. Last year we walked the CF from Leon to SDC.

Thanks in advance for your advice.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Easy answer, start in Le Puy and aim for Figeac. I am 8 days into my walk and have just reached Conques. If you want to see pictures of my progress I'm blogging my journey on www.gavineyre.com

Thanks Gavin for the info and I have indeed been following your blogs. Keep posting those pics....Awsome

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
This isn't from personal knowledge, but my french buddies on the Camino say avoid Decazeville. We've all booked in at the Bio Gite la Vita e Bella 4 kms further in Livinac le-Haut.

Hi Gavin! I'm enjoying your blog and it's bringing back lots of great memories from last September. You will like Bio Gite in Livinhac - the owner, Andreas is such a nice man, and while he was cooking us a delicious pasta dinner, he had wonderful music playing in the kitchen. We also avoided Decazeville and from comments we heard from other pilgrims, it was a good decision!
Bon Chemin!

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Le Puy to as far as you can go...

I would recommend staying in Conques as there is a special service in the Abbey in the evening. When we were there in 2012, one of the monks also performed a re-enactment of the death of St Foy after dinner, outside the Abbey. He also explained the symbols on the door. It was a wonderful evening and ended with a sound and light show in the Abbey to the sound of "the House of the Rising Sun" on the organ!!

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).

Hi there, I'm considering walking from Le Puy to St. Jean next spring if I can get my French up to par. I'm looking on advice on a few things: - Would it be too cool and rainy to start walking...
