  1. Weather in March

I'm leaving St Jean on the 22nd March taking of course the low route. Anybody give me some help on what weather I can expect for the first few days.
  2. Weather in April

Hmm.......I put "weather + April" into the search box and ended up here......While I found the thread very interesting it does not really answer my question. If someone could give me an indication of what the weather on the Camino Frances is like in April and May it would be much appreciated. :)
  3. Weather is unpredictable

We all know how unpredictable the weather can be on the Camino, especially on the Norte. So, I am seeking your experiences to the amount of rain fall in July and August on the Norte. I'm hoping I won't need rain pants and can get away with a lightweight poncho. Thoughts and stories welcome...

  5. Dusting of snow south of Burgos

Woke up in the albergue at Santo Domingo de Silos this morning to find 2-3cm of snow lying. Very pretty and nothing to worry about and it was mostly burnt off by a bright sun by the time I got to the highest point of the day (c1200m) on the way to lovely Covarrubias. But some other parts of...

  9. How to stay cool in this heatwave

As the heatwave continues across Europe, with temperatures forecast over 40degC for some parts of the Camino Frances, here's Laurie Lee heaping up the crushed ice in one of my favourite passages. I hope it helps us all to keep cool: "By now it was noon, with almost everyone under cover, in the...

Hi this is my first request on this forum. My daughter and I start off on our first Camino from Tui on 26JUN18. I would appreciate an update on the current weather as we make our calls on whether to carry ponchos (rain) or umbrellas (sun) as well as whether we should carry something light to...

    Torrential rains in the pyrenees?

I’ve been trying to keep an eye on the weather in SJPdP and Roncesvalles. Obviously, its tough to find accurate info from here in the States. Could anyone over there tell me if the rains in these areas are as terrible and constant as I seem to see on AccuWeather? Is the Napoleon still open...

Hi friends, I’m new here! I’m coming from San Diego, California (where it’s sunny with an ocean breeze year round. So, hopefully, I won’t sound overly worried here.) I’m beginning my Camino on Friday. I am prepared for rain, of course, but all of my information keeps saying there will be...

Hola Camino folks! I know this probably sounds ridiculous.....but i am postponing my trip because the weather looks so bad at the moment! Every time i check, it looks like days and days of rain and pretty cold. Cold i can do, but rain not so keen! I am not time constrained so can leave now...
  18. LIVE from the Camino Snowed in at San Juan de la Pena!

Weather in Spain is truly insane right now, but we thought we’d be safe avoiding the worst of it by starting in Jaca just south of the Pyrenees... GUESS AGAIN!!! We are literally snowed in at the hotel at the San Juan de la Pena monastery and it’s only guest (in that gigantic hotel!). The...

    September and early October weather

I'm hiking the Camino de Frances early September to early October. I was curious to hear how the weather was for anyone that has hiked during that time. I know it's pretty unpredictable, but was hoping to at least get an idea. Anyone have advice for type of shoes during this time? Water...

The Primitivo is on my wish list and I can't do it this year so I'm thinking ahead ;) I'm curious... what was the weather like when you walked it... does April always bring showers? Was it glorious in June? Is the autumn colour the best? I know the weather is changeable and unpredictable but...
